Shell construction

Motorcycle helmet is the most important thing to ensure safety of the most valuable asset you have - your head. Anyway, since the helmet cannot be too heavy, modern motorcycle helmets are designed to absorb one serious impact only, after which helmet must be replaced. Once struck, the outer shell and energy-absorbing material at the point of impact have been crushed, cracked and deformed; the helmet will no longer adequately absorb energy. If you have been involved in a crash, you need to replace your helmet as soon as possible. From the same reason, its also important to always prefer buying a new helmet instead of purchasing used second-hand helmet. You never know what the history is with a used helmet and how much it will protect you when you need it most.

LS2 Helmets materials

Carbon - Carbon Fibre Shell
Carbon Fibre is a material used extensively in the space and aeronautical industry, in Formula 1 and Moto GP racing. Carbon fiber is a remarkably strong material, but it's also extremely lightweight. LS2 uses multiple layers of exclusive wide-weave carbon fiber to create a very light but strong outer shell that handles impacts while dispersing energy for a safer ride.

HPFC - High Performance Fiberglass Composite
High Performance Fiberglass Composite is a very special, ultra strong and lightweight material exclusive to LS2. Carefully layered blend of an aerospace fiberglass weaves and LS2 proprietary resins forms immensely rigid and lightweight outer shells that are stronger and better dispersing energy than a standard fibre glass shells, ensuring high impact protection.

KPA - Kinetic Polymer Alloy
Since 2015, LS2 has been manufacturing helmets from the brand new, LS2 patented spage age material KPA (Kinetic Polymer Alloy). KPA is a LS2´s proprietary blend of aramid nano fibers and high-end polymers with excellent properties. KPA tests same or better than the best traditional composites. KPA helmets are lightweight, have designed-in flexibility and a penetration resistance that meets or exceeds the best known composites for ultimate energy dispersion while maintaining an extremely low weight.

HPTT - High Pressure Thermoplastic Technology
HPTT helmets utilize an exclusive LS2 technology of polycarbonate injection under extremely high pressure. This enabled us to use a new and more advanced materials in the construction of LS2 helmets. This polycarbonate material is used also in the construction of helmets for astronauts and in bullet-proofing, and guarantees high level of performance in terms of safety, and all this at a price which is still affordable.

LS2 interior linings

All LS2 helmets have quality laser-cut liners inside, made of comfortable moisture-wicking anti-allergic fabrics. Every helmet is exposed to dust, dirt, moisture and sweat. LS2 interiors are completely removable and washable so you can keep your LS2 helmet as fresh as new.
