Good motocross gloves will provide you with improved grip, protection, and comfort in dry or wet weather.  Maximum grip feel offers single layer palm, good sloves also eliminate any seams or stitching in the palm, which can cause hot spots or irritation points. For grip, many motocross gloves integrate a non-slip Silicone coating in the fingertips, especially of the clutch and braking fingers. Pre-curved fingers form natural grip. A snug fit and wrist straps provide optimal mobility and help keep your grip secure. 
For ATV trips you may want a light padding in the palms and fingers to absorb vibration and impact on the bars. Many dirt bike gloves also provide hard protectors on the knuckles for the event of crash, rock-filled roost, or slaps from tree branches.

You should have two pairs of gloves at your disposal: one pair for hot summer days and other one for cold weather. You do not want to ride thin gloves in the winter, nor you want to sweat in warm gloves in the summer.

When finding your glove size ensure that the cuffs and the overall fit isn’t too loose - excess material may bunch up and increase the potential for blisters.
