All LS2 helmets comply with valid European safety standards and all are approved to ECE R22-05. Moreover, some LS2 helmets also meet the American SNELL 2010 standard, which is the world's toughest standard for motorcycle helmets.
P/J Dual homologation
Most modern LS2 Flip-up helmets has been tested and approved to offer protection with both the chin guard down as well as up. This dual homologation is indicated by the letters "P/J" on the helmet and means that you can legally ride with closed or open chin guard. The locking mechanism is on the left side of the helmet and locks the chin guard in the open position, preventing it from accidental closing. In any case, for best protection, LS2 recommends you to always ride with the visor and chin guard closed.
When buying a new helmet, always check there is a ECE 22-05 label sewn on the chinstrap. ECE 22-05 is European Helmet Safety Standard which approves safety of your helmet.
